Two White Horses

(There’s) Two white horses in a line

They gonna take me to my burying ground, and dig my grave with a silver spade.

You can dig my grave with a silver spade

And lead me down with a golden chain, and dig my grave with a silver spade.

The long, long lane ain’t got no end

And the mighty bad wind don’t never change, and the long, long lane and got no end.

Lay this guitar down by my head

And your young wife, she won’t cry no more, when you lay this guitar down by my head.

Get the Evil Out

It come in through the windows

Comes up from the floor

Rattles your shutters

And knocks down doors.

It turns brother ‘gainst brother

And takes sisters and mothers

It’s a force in the night

And it kills the light

When the evil come on in the dead of night, and it’s got no place to go…

Best to beat it down, and bind its hands, before it gets its hold on you,

You got to get the EVIL OUT!

Oh Get the Evil Out

Get it out I say….

It’s the only way.

It can smell your vulnerability

It can taste your need

Nixes culpability

And justifies greed.

It preaches to the weak

And misleads the blind

Rips through beauty

And taunts the mind

There’s lies in truth, and truth in lies, a smile behind the blackened veil.

When whispers stain, and rumors thrive, only one thing left to do…

You got to get the Evil OUT!

Oh you can bleed it out.

Get it out I say,

It’s the only way….

Horrified

I get horrified…. at the way you do.

It’s a slippery slope to the edge of the ledge.

I may fall and break my leg.

But ill stand tall in the mirror of my life.

Whilst you grovel and beg.

(RF)

Less and less you see the light in the tunnel

You know not from where you came

No matter how you pull the strings in this life

Every damn thing stay the same.

(RF)

You break your back morning, noon and night

And your looking to find something new

But My life is a sacred thing

And I won’t live it for you

(RF)

I’ve seen a change in your color

I’ve seen a change in your eyes

It’s a desperate glance, a plead to the heavens, bleeding clouds behind Auburn skies…

(RF)

Ice Cream Samurai

I got a sweet cream woman,

She gonna cut my throat.

She’s got hot fudge lips,

And kung fu hips.

She got lust in her eyes,

And death in her thighs.

She got blood on her teeth,

And sugar on her sheets.

She’s a mystified killa’, and a natural born thrilla’, a real blood spilla!

And a sharpened blade, that’s how she roll, she’ll imbibe your soul.

She’s gonna watch you bleed, cause that’s what she need- the ICE CREAM SAMURAI

She’ll send a chill through your bones,

Decapitate your dome.

She done killed befo’

She gonna kill some mo’

You can’t hide or run, cause it’s too much fun, she’s born to stun.

She’ll bring the pain, with her strawberry rain, that’s her claim to fame.

She never lies, she never dies- THE ICE CREAM SAMAURAI.

A Kitty Cat Pur,

And a siren’s lure.

It’s a complicated notion,

But a deadly potion

MR. POP CHART

Mr. Pop Chart, Mr. Pop Chart, Who you think I am?

BIGFOOT IN THE CITY

The leaders of the forest said he could not stick around.
They took him by the hand and they showed him into town.
When all the children saw him, they all began to cry.
They never understand that he’s just trying to get by.

All the people want to know: “How is Bigfoot going to live in the city?  In the City!”

He went into a restaurant, they would not serve him there.
He went across the street and they would not cut his hair.
He tried to find a place to stay but no pets are allowed.
He go to read at the library, but they say he is to loud.

All the people want to know: “How is Bigfoot going to live in the city?  In the City!”

They put him in the jail, but they could not hold him there.
They take him to the hospital but they could not treat him there.
Every time he start to drink (oh no!), he always cause a scene.
And everyone in town agrees that Bigfoot is too mean.

All the people want to know: “How is Bigfoot going to live in the city?  In the City!”

Where can he go?  I just don’t know, he cannot stay with me………

If God Don’t Mind

There’s an old Punjabi Sikh, suckin’ on a chickens beak

There’s an ‘ol Carolina whore, wankin’ off one more,

Trouble comes and goes the bye and bye

There’s a fella’ in Palestine, ‘bout to blow your mind

He’s reaching in his vest, trying to do his best

And bombs are blowin’ up in Boston too

When the end comes by,

Tell him it ain’t time for me to die.

And if God don’t mind,

Tell him I was just too hard to find.

Heroes keep on falling, there’s fewer every day

Politicians keep on talking, doesn’t matter what they say;

A psycho sprays a school with all his pain.

Country’s getting worse, righties say we’re cursed.

Wars keep on goin’, lefty’s whistle’s blowin’

And everything moves faster than before…

When the end comes by,

tell him it aint time for me to die.

And if God don’t mind,

Tell him I was just to hard to find.

Dr. Pepper poppin’ pills just to get his thrills and the bubbles goin’ to his head

There’s a wishbone flyin’ while a good man’s lyin’ all his neighbors wishin’ he was dead, people pay their

price and then it’s pawned

All this flippin’ and a floppin’ while the standards are a droppin’ give everybody’s got something to say.

Well the papacy is poppin’ and the wankers aren’t stoppin’ give the people what they want today.

Seems like they can’t give enough away.

When the end comes by,

Tell him it aint time for me to die.

And if God don’t mind,

Tell him I was just to hard to find.

Your Sweetness (is Wrecking My Life)

You know they’ll tell you, when your sad n’ blue,

Give it some time, and you’ll come through.

But your sweetness is wrecking my life.

When first we met, I was soaking wet.

A leap of faith, with no safety net.

And my love had been a dog from hell…

Please don’t stay, you have your ways.

All we have left, are these wasted days.

And bargains for better or worse.

It’s all the same, I’ll play your game.

Our horse once led, but came up lame.

And we beat him as he lays on the ground.

It would be worse, if we sealed our curse.

What’s done is done, we had our fun.

Your footprints left mud on my floor.

Our last embrace, we cannot face,

there’s too much sweetness left to taste.

By morning, you’ll be calling again.

Time Flies By

When you’re young they tell you, wait till you grow up.

So you dream of days when you can shut them up.

Freedom seems so distant but you know that it will come,

And then you realize that it’s lost before it won.

And the time flies by, the time flies by, all my life, the time flies by.

And the future is everything.

And then it’s time to become just who you’re meant to be,

But soon you understand nothing comes without a fee.

So all you do is worry, and work and try to live.

And then before you know it the years have sifted through the sieve.

And the time flies by, the time flies by, all my life, the time flies by.

And September keeps calling my name.

The money’s made, the bills are paid you keep the family fed.

You try to keep the piano from falling on your head.

The holidays they come and go, good people that you’ve seen,

You try to vitalize all on that to which you’re keen.

And the time flies by, the time flies by, all my life, the time flies by.

And the present is all I have.

And love it lives and grows like the flowers in the ground.

No matter what the ride it’s the same place we’re all bound.

So laugh and cry and live and die, what more can you do?

But search until you find all the good that’s true to you.

And the time flies by, the time flies by, all my life, the time flies by.

The Rapture

There’s a new sound, that’s going around.

It’s taking you down, way under ground.

They call it the rapture, they call it the rapture….

It’s coming for you, it’s coming for me.

Just what will be, we goin’ have to see…

Because of the rapture, they call it the rapture.

Way up high,

Up in the sky,

Bye and Bye,

We all gonna die….

Because of the rapture, they call that the rapture.

The rap-tap-tap-ture, the ri-bi-top-tapture.

Too Many Times

You broke down and lonely.

You betrayed and dazed.

And nobody seems to know, what you got to show…

And that’s too many times, too many times you’ve gone and played the fool.

You got a bullet in your kneecap.

You got a knife in your back, yeah.

And everywhere you go, like you rollin’ on death row.

And that’s too many times, too many times you’ve gone and played the fool.

You’ve been busted and disgusted; and you been couldn’t be trusted.

You’ve been outclassed and sassed; and you been upstaged and caged.

You’ve been ripped and reamed; and you done had your clock cleaned.

You’ve been dragged through mud; and you done spit up blood.

But that’s too many times, baby.  And that’s too many times…..

Way too many times… way too many times you’ve gone and played the fool.

Jenna Lee

Jenna Lee is her name, bloody knuckles her name-

She’s a high class dame but she ain’t got no shame.

She got jet black hair, and Medusa’s stare-

She rides like a mare but’s as mean as a bear.

She’s got a gun and a black cat bone, and a cold old heart that’s made of stone-

She’s bound to make you weep and moan, a meaner woman has never been known.

She’s like a rose, with the sharpest thorns, or the baddest bull with the biggest horns-

She’s bound to leave you withered and torn cause hell hath no furry like a woman’s scorn.

She’s got a love so strong, that’s why I wrote ‘ol lonesome this song-

But her list is too long and her bite is so wrong.

The Feelin’

I remember one time when I was a little boy… I woke up one Saturday morning, and it was raining on my window.  So I go downstairs and I say to my Mama, “I can’t go outside and play today, Mama- it’s raining to hard.”  She said, “Don’t worry baby- the rain’s gonna clear, you go outside and play a little later.”  And I said, “But it’s raining so hard, Mama… how you know that?”  She looked at me and she said, “ I got a Feelin’ baby.”

Yeah I got a Feelin’.

My friend came over yesterday.  He said, “Man, my woman done left me.”  I said, “What’s new, man?  She leaves you every week.”  He said, “Naw man, she took it all this time, and she won’t be back no more.”  I said, “Man if I told you once, I told you ten times- she’s coming home.”  He said “How you know that, man?”  I looked him right in the eyes and said….  “I got a feelin’ man.”

Yeah I got a Feelin’.

And ever since I was a little boy I had the Feelin’.  And since then, man- I been…

Busted.  Broke.  Blamed.  Shamed.  Tenderized and all kinds of tired.

I been mad, sad, glad- oh, and I had what I had when times got bad.

And even now when the devil come to me… he say “come along with me, man.”

I say, “Naw.”

He say, “Why?”

I say, “I got a Feelin’ man!”

And just like that I get a feelin’.  The Feelin’ come up on me, and I start getting into it….

Hey Mama

Hey mama do you hear that sound, the sound that’s going around?

That’s just me little woman, I’m prowling through your town.

Hey mama do you see that light?  I’m the light at the end of the line.

If you come say hello to me I think you’ll find me mighty kind.

Hey mama I’m a gentle touch, I can lead you through the night.

When we’re rolling in the blankets I can make you feel alright.

Hey mama do you see this here? This here is a mojo hand.

You can’t get these anywhere, that’s why they call me a rolling man.

Hey mama I can treat you right, let me show you what I do.

I’m one of those rolling men, I’ll roll you till you come too.

Hey mama, I can watch you slip- I like the way you slide across my floor.

When you start shaking like that I’ll come knocking at your back door.

Hey mama, I can watch you switch, you got a jingle that sticks to your hips.

When you start rolling on me I just sit and watch your honey drip.

Hold, Baby Hold

Hold, Baby Hold…..

Stop, Look Around, and Get Down.

There’s a right and a wrong, and a way to get along with a song.

So there’s shit on your shoes?  And all damn day with the blues…

Don’t you fret, don’t you frown- just stop, look around, and get down.

On the beat, move your feet!  Don’t fake, don’t lie, and don’t cheat.

Don’t disapprove of this groove- young boys and young girls they must move.

Here’s a sound we have found: so stop, look around, and get down.

Why You No Shower?

This next song is a true story- about a time I took a young lady out.  And we did like two young people like to do- we went out drinking and we went out dancing.  And let me tell you people, when I groove..

You know I feel it.  And when I move, you know I really reel it.

And after we were dancing for a while- maybe 30 minutes, maybe 45- something strange started to happen.  Sure enough as the day I was born, this girl started to smell man.  And when I say this girl started to smell man, I mean this girl started to smell, man.  And this song is about that night.  It’s called “Why You No Shower?”

Why you no shower?

Why you no shower?

You come out late, you told me eight.

You looking fine, but you wasting my time.

And everybody know what you got.

And I know you believe you’ve got a lot.

But why you no shower?

Why you no shower?

You got those legs, but you make me beg.

You got those eyes, and you got those thighs.

We go out dancing, but you come back stinking.

Because you no shower.  Because you no shower…

Everybody knows what you got.

And I know you believe that you’re hot to trot.

But why you no shower?

Why you no shower?

Why you no shower?

Why you no shower?

At the end of the night… when the time is right… to hold her tight…

I just couldn’t do it, so this is what I tell the girl…

Said I’ll call you tomorrow, after you’ve had a shower.

Yeah I’ll call you tomorrow, after you’ve had a shower.

Well I’ll call you tomorrow, yea I’ll call you tomorrow…

I’ll call you tomorrow…

After you’ve had a shower.

I KNOW SOMETHING

Have you ever cried at midnight? Have you drank yourself to sleep?
And have you seen, the never ending road?
Because I met the devil, and to him my soul I sold.

You might call me a sinner, you might think of me a fool.
You might ask yourself, “How can he be so low?”
But I know something, that the devil don’t know.

My soul was forged from fire, and my heart is strong as steel.
I got 400 spirits, and my magic hands.
Yes and I’ve got the key to ten different promised lands.

The Devil might have an army, he might have the kingdom of hell.
He might know some tricks, he might always win.
But I know some women, and they can bring it hotter than him.

You might call me a sinner, you might think of me a fool.
You might scratch your head and say, “How can he be so low?”
But I know something, that the devil don’t know.

MY LOVE IS A BURNING FIRE

My Love is a burning fire, my love is a flame.
My Love is a burning fire, through all the rain.
My love is a burning fire, my heart is ablaze.
My spirit will soar forever, and never change.

My loneliness, it won’t never go;
But as long as I’m here, I won’t let it show.

I’m mad and I’m sad, ain’t no end in sight;
But I’ll fight it off with all my might.

These women don’t want me and I can’t be satisfied;
But you don’t know me if you think I’ll run and hide.

When my time is up and I’m fixing to die,
My love will live on, I’ll tell you why…….

My Love is a burning fire, my love is a flame.
My Love is a burning fire, through all the rain.
My Love is a burning fire, my heart is ablaze.
My spirit will soar forever, and never change.

This world is crazy, but so am I;
I won’t stay down, I’ve got to be high.

God don’t know me, and the devil is wise;
And these girls drive me crazy with the fire in their eyes.

I’m the baddest man that you ever will know;
I got a beating heart and a furnace for a soul.

Give me a good looking woman and a bottle of gin;
Then leave me a lone, let me have my sin.

My Love is a burning fire, my love is a flame.
My Love is a burning fire, through all the rain.
My love is a burning fire, my heart is ablaze.
My spirit will soar forever, and never change……

And never change…..And never change……

I soar on…….. I soar on………  I soar on…….. I soar on.

LOVE 2 GIVE

I’d like to take a moment, to tell you about some things. You see there’s this one thing in particular, and you know that I’ve got lot of it.  It’s in me, and it got to come out- I believe John Lee Hooker said that.  Anyway I tend to ramble from time to time, guess I’ll head on down the road…

I’ve got love to give, yes I’ve got love to give.

(A whole lot of it, man.)

(A whole reservoir, don’t never run out!)

(I ship it in from other countries… other planets too!)

Now if I give this to you, “quid pro quo,” as they say…..what you gonna do for me, man?  You see I’ve got problems myself:  I can’t find no job, can’t hardly pay the rent on time.   And I’ve got woman problems man, you know that’s true.

I get lonely, yes I get lonely.  (From time to time)

But hey, hey!  I’ve got Love to give, yes I’ve got love to give!

(My friends, they’ve got love to give.  My enemies, they’ve got love to give!)

(I’ll never let you down!)

(I know that I do!)

(All through and through!)

(Can you believe!?)

WIND BLOWS

I hear the rooster crowing babe,
It’s almost nine.
I see them from my window, they’re running….
To the goldmine.

They don’t know which way to go, they don’t know.
They don’t know which way to go, they don’t know.

Wind is getting stronger now,
It’s blowing in my face.
There’s little mice all around me,
They’re running a race.

They’re all going where the wind blows, I won’t go.
There they go…. going where he wind blows, I can’t go.

OLD MEN AND THE SEA

I met him at the station, he was hanging his head and crying.
When I asked him what was wrong, he said “my babe ain’t no longer mine.”
I took him back home, and I gave him a big ‘ol meal.
When he didn’t touch a bite he said, “my wounds will never heal.”

He said:

“If you got a woman that treats you right, don’t ever let her go.
And if she moves to fast for you, tell her to take it slow.
Many men will tell you, “there’s plenty of fish in the sea.”
I thought that way for years my friend, and now look at me.
I’m tired and I’m broken, my heart is split in two.
I’m begging you now my dear young friend, don’t let it happen to you.”

He told me his name was Jackson, and that hers was Caroline;
And that he took her for granted, so she moved on down the line.
He wrote her and he called, but it was all in vein.
Because she told him, “Dear Jackson, you’ve caused me too much pain.”

So if you got a woman that treats you right, don’t ever let her go.
And if she moves to fast for you, tell her to take it slow.
Many men will tell you, “there’s plenty of fish in the sea.”
I thought that way for years my friend, and now look at me.
I’m tired and I’m broken, my heart is split in two.
I’m begging you now my dear young friend, don’t let it happen to you.

That was his story, he left the next day.
But I’ll never forget that desperate man and the things that he’d say.

Like if you got a woman that treats you right, don’t ever let her go.

MY BABY BOUND TO RAMBLE

My baby bound to ramble, she’s gonna leave me cold some day.
When my baby got to move, she’s gonna have it her own way.

She hold me close, and keep me warm, and tell me I’m the only one.
I wake up in the morning, she’s no where around; she’s gone before the sun come up.

When my baby bound to ramble, she don’t never say ‘good bye’.
And when my woman got to go, she never wanna tell me why.

She leave no number, she leave no name, she’s gone without making a sound.
She left no letter, she left no note, she call me if she wanna be found.

When your girl get the feelin’, you know she gonna slip away.
She hit the road running, and roll until the break of day.

Yea she’s looking for trouble, she’s looking for love, she’s looking for some money too.
Well she leave me lonely, you know it’s a shame, my baby don’t care if I’m blue.

If your good girl quits you- please man, don’t you cry.
If your baby gone and left you- please man, don’t you cry.

You can come on down, come on down- I’ll help you run her down.
We’ll look in the country, we’ll look n town; we’ll find her if she’s hanging around.

My baby’s got something, I don’t know what it is.
Every time she starts shaking, I can’t keep my big self still.

Yea she’s loose and lovely, and lubby-dubby too, and she’s easy when she ain’t being hard.
And the way she moves, it drives me mad- I just can’t keep away.

PRETTY FETHA’D MAMA

Laid down last night, tried to take my rest.
Laid down last night, tried to take my rest,
I didn’t have no pretty fetha’d mama, oh, to warm my nest.

I’ve been drinking gin and whisky, trying to drive my blues away,
I’ve been drinking gin and whisky, trying to drive my blues away,
No matter how much I drink, it seems these blues are here to stay.

If you see a pretty fetha’d mama, please give her my name,
You see a pretty fetha’d mama, please give her my name,
Tell her this old rooster, will surely put her man to shame.

WHISPER IN MY EAR

Oh baby please, please come whisper in my ear,
Oh baby please, please come whisper in my ear,
And tell me all the things you know I want to hear.

I’m gonna tell you something woman I hope you can understand,
I want you to hold me tight, and tell me I’m your man.
Oh baby please, please come whisper in my ear,
And tell me all the things you know that I love to hear.

I love it so much woman when you treat me so nice,
And when you whisper in my ear, you sure do entice.
Oh baby please, please come whisper in my ear,
And tell me all the things a man just loves to hear.
